“…He missed a few throws, a few throws were late, a few throws were dropped, then there were some sacks. It’s the same thing that it was with Blaine (Gabbert).”

The Sports Virus asked Bono if Colin Kaepernick should remain as the starting QB:

“…I’m partial to Blaine (Gabbert) because I think that he’s worked hard to earn that spot. Has he played great this year? No. Has he played bad? No. But, I think that because Chip already made the change he probably needs to stick with Kaep for right now. You made the change, he didn’t play bad enough to take him out, he didn’t play great enough to go ‘oh yeah, he’s for sure our starter next week.’ (Kelly) seemed somewhat reluctant to announce him as the starter…My hope would be that the difference maker is that he can take off (running) two or three times and make a huge play.”

… “Usually when you’re coming off that bench you have a mental game walking to face the closer. One guy on your shoulder is saying ‘I haven’t hit in two weeks,’ while the other guy has gotta say ‘It doesn’t matter, you can get it done, you can get it done.’ So, it’s a mental thing and a lot of times it’s more for the older player.”

… “When the phone rings it could be any of us. Anybody in that bullpen has a chance to contribute in a big spot…We all have confidence in each other and anybody who gets the ball is going to be called on to get some big outs. I think we’re going to do that in these last 6 games.”

Brown told the The Sports Virus the Giants are optimistic:

… “We’re still battling. We all know that we’re still in a good spot and have a chance to make the playoffs.”

“…it didn’t seem like he was seeing the field well…is he the best in the league? No, but he’s a good dude and you want to see him succeed. He reminds me a lot of Alex (Smith) when he was younger.”

Bono told The Sports Virus why he doesn’t think it’s a good idea to switch quarterbacks right now:

“…I personally don’t think Kaep is into it mentally. Honestly, I don’t think he wants to play. I hope that’s not the case, but that’s the impression I get.”
