Today we have an in-depth interview from Thursday’s TV show with Giants Vice President of Player Development David Bell. He tells us his goals for San Francisco’s minor leaguers and chats about the progress of players at all of the affiliates. Bell also reminisces about the 2002 Giants team that won the National League pennant in a season where he was named the Willie Mac Award winner.
Augusta play-by-play announcer Joe Laurendi is our other guest. He gets us caught up on the Greenjackets’ solid pitching staff and tells us how prospects Heliot Ramos and Jacob Gonzalez are playing in the South Atlantic League.

The Giants hot streak has everyone optimistic about contending the entire season in the NL West. Joe and Ray discuss why it’s going well right now for SF and look ahead to the road trip that begins Friday in Washington. RHP Jeff Samardzija is on the mend (shoulder-expected to throw a bullpen session on Friday) and we both agree that when he returns he will need to step it up to remain in the rotation with young pitchers like Andrew Suarez and Dereck Rodriguez on the rise.
