Plus, he looks forward to what SF will do in the off-season, especially at the quarterback position.
BONO ON JIMMY G’S POSSIBLE RETURN: “I think that they restructure his deal, give a majority of it to him in a signing bonus and I’m sure Jimmy would be fine doing that because he’s making just as much money if not more…Yes, he’s been hurt, but when he’s playing he’s proven to be a winner.”
BONO ALSO CONTEMPLATES THE SITUATION IF JIMMY G ISN’T COMING BACK: “I know Kyle (Shanahan) has a history with Matt Ryan, but if it were me I would want my guy to be Carson Wentz. He’s younger, I think he’s a good player and he’s got more mobility than Matt.”

Every week former 49ers QB Steve Bono analyzes the Niners game. This week we chat about the Monday Night loss to the Bills which exposed flaws in the SF defense and QB Nick Mullens. “Honestly I don’t know if he’s good enough to be the difference maker,” says Bono. “Kyle (Shanahan) likes having him in there, his teammates like having him in there because he gets them to the right play, he’s getting them out of trouble. Maybe that’s something that (CJ) Beathard doesn’t do as well, but God when they have to be in a throwing situation I would like to have seen Beathard slinging it around last night.”
