Sacramento River Cats play-by-play announcer Johnny Doskow joins us to recap the AAA season for the Giants Pacific Coast League affiliate. We evaluate the best San Francisco prospects at the top level of the minor leagues, including recently promoted Chris Shaw who hit 24 home runs this season, flexing his muscles on shots in all directions:
“I’ve seen home runs to left center, down the left field line. We saw one the other day 458 feet to deep right center, so it’s to all fields. It’s massive power. He’s got that big bat and he can crush it. I’d like to see what happens his first two weeks up there because that’s when a guy gets really hot sometimes and he’s really going to show the Giants fans.”
Join us again next week during the Giants road trip.

Doskow talked to The Sports Virus about Chris Shaw: …“His swing is so fluid. You don’t miss watching him take BP…He’s such a humble kid, but a confident kid. He uses the entire field, great swing. He’s got a great future. He’s fun to watch.”

Sacramento River Cats Play-By-Play announcer Johnny Doskow joined us Saturday to talk about the Giants Pacific Coast League affiliate.
Doskow was asked by The Sports Virus about Hunter Pence’s rehab assignment:
“ …There’s no reason to rush him. They are going to slow play it and I think it’s smart. You’d rather have a healthy Pence go in mid-August than rush him and have something else happen. Even watching him leg out a double, he’s obviously not 100 percent, but he’s gonna get there and I think the slower you play it the better.”
Come back MONDAY when we podcast from AT&T Park in San Francisco.

We talk about the Giants AAA affiliate in the Pacific Coast League with Sacramento River Cats Play-By-Play Announcer Johnny Doskow.
Doskow tells The Sports Virus that Mac Williamson told him: … “I didn’t want to be that bitter AAA guy. I wanted to come down with a good attitude. I knew there was a good chance I wouldn’t make the team out of spring training.” Doskow went on to say that Williamson “hit the ball so hard (with the River Cats), his average (.355) wasn’t indicative of how well he hit. He hit line drives right at people. He could have been hitting over .400.”
Come back TUESDAY for Reds Announcer Jim Kelch.
