Monday at AT&T Park in San Francisco we chatted with Giants reliever Cory Gearrin about the recent 10-game road trip. We also hear from Giants manager Bruce Bochy, trainer Dave Groeschner and NBC Sports Bay Area reporter Amy Gutierrez.
Giants trainer Dave Groeschner talked about Madison Bumgarner’s rehab: “He’s made great progress the last 10 days or so, throwing just about every day and got off the mound today. …He did a great job keeping his arm strong and the rest of his body strong, his lower body, his core…He did a lot of shoulder exercises, we did a lot of different things, cuff weights on his arm, just to do anything we could to keep his strength in there…Everyone sees Bum’s competitiveness on the field and that’s pretty much what he does with his rehab. He works really hard. He gets after it just like he does in the game and that helps us. We get a guy that’s that motivated, I really feel like that helps you come back bigger, stronger and quicker and he’s been working his butt off.”
