Every Tuesday during the NFL season we chat with Former 49ers QB Steve Bono. Today we talk about the 49ers loss to the Cowboys and the halftime tribute to Dwight Clark.

Bono spent 14 seasons in the NFL. He had a 5-1 record in his 6 Niners starts and finished his career 28-14 overall.

Bono talked to The Sports Virus about Dwight Clark and “The Catch”: “When Joe (Montana) goes to the sideline and Bill (Walsh) tells him, ‘Remember, you’re going to have Freddie (Solomon) right away’ on the two-step out route. So, Joe comes out looking for him, but Freddie slips…If you watch Joe, he brings it back to throw it and doesn’t have it so he keeps going…Dwight’s route is exactly the way that Bill had always drawn it up. So, Dwight does exactly what he’s supposed to do.”
