Bono talked to The Sports Virus about who deserves to be the 49ers starting QB against the Seahawks: “It’s going to be hard for them to sit (C.J. Beathard) down in two weeks. He’s earned it. I’m sure there will be a lot of time spent by Kyle (Shanahan), sleepless nights, trying to figure out is (Jimmy) Garoppolo ready? If there’s any doubt, if I were Shanahan then I would be playing C.J., because he’s earned the right to continue being the starter.”

Every Tuesday during the NFL season we chat with Former 49ers QB Steve Bono. Today we talk about the 49ers loss to the Cardinals and discuss the right time to play new QB Jimmy Garoppolo.
Bono spent 14 seasons in the NFL. He had a 5-1 record in his 6 Niners starts and finished his career 28-14 overall.
Bono talked to The Sports Virus about whether or not newcomer Jimmy Garoppolo should start at QB this week against the Giants: “No, no. You’re tempted, you want to, but the quarterback is not the problem right now. The protection is the first problem. We’ve got to be able to run the ball better. We’ve got to take the pressure off the quarterback and make the movement, play-action game better.”
