Gregor Blanco has injected life into the Giants offense with his ability to reach base and his electric speed. He is the leadoff hitter they have been searching for during recent seasons. For 30 years, when San Francisco sports fans have mentioned “The Catch” it was obvious they were referring to the 49ers Dwight Clark making a leaping reception of a Joe Montana pass in the end zone to beat the Cowboys in the 1982 NFC Championship Game. Well, maybe we had “The Catch 2″ in the city by the bay when Blanco saved Matt Cain’s perfect game with a diving snag against the Astros. Gregor talked in detail about that amazing play and his time with the Giants when he joined us before a game against the Dodgers at AT&T Park.
