Bobby Meacham is the first base coach of the Houston Astros. He spent
his entire six-year playing career as a shortstop with the New York Yankees from 1983-1988. Meacham has also been a Major League coach with the Marlins, Padres and Yankees. On our podcast he tells a story about Tony Gwynn, who might not have been a Hall of Fame baseball player without Meacham and others convincing him to play the sport at San Diego State. Bobby also talked at length about the shortstop position before an Astros game in San Francisco.
