Welcome to the first Spring Training edition of the INSIDE CHINA BASIN podcast on TheSportsVirus.com!

Today’s guests are Giants Catcher and NL MVP Buster Posey as well as Giants Pitcher and two-time Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum, who joined us just prior to FanFest at AT&T Park. Posey has been healthy for two full seasons as a Giant and the club won the World Series both times (2010 and 2012). He won the NL Batting title and a Silver Slugger award last season in his comeback from a horrific leg injury in 2011.

Lincecum had his worst year in the Major Leagues, but pitched well out of the bullpen in the post season.

Bochy Press Conference on Posey Injury

A day after the home plate collision between Scott Cousins and Buster Posey, TheSportsVirus Joe Castellano was in the Giants Dugout as Giants Manager Bruce Bochy spoke about the play and injury while suggesting that Major League Baseball make a rule change to protect catchers.

The Posey Injury

After Scott Cousins of the Marlins crashed into Buster Posey of theGiants at home plate to score the go ahead run in the 12th inning on May 25, there was much debate about whether or not it was a clean play and there was plenty of discussion around baseball about a possible rule change.
