This season he was tearing up the Pacific Coast League with Fresno (.364, 7 homers, 31 RBIs, 10 stolen bases in 60 games) before he got another chance in San Francisco. A Bay Area native (Aragon High School in San Mateo and Skyline JC in San Bruno), Christian grew up as a Giants fan rooting for Will Clark, Matt Williams and JT Snow. Brandon Belt has picked up his offense after a slow start and he’s playing almost every day at first base for the Giants. He recently had a career-best, 11-game hitting streak, with four home runs and 12 RBIs during that span. After hitting .230 with 0 homers the first two months of the season, he batted .296 in June and finished the month with four homers. He’s at .300 against left handed pitching and maintains a high .369 on base percentage. Belt was thrilled to be a part of Matt Cain’s perfect game. That was part of our conversation before a game against the Reds at AT&T Park.
